GLF Steel Expands into New Workshop in Catfield

GLF Steel is proud to announce an exciting new chapter for the business, as we move into a larger, purpose-built workshop in Catfield, Norfolk.

After six years of continued growth, the move marks a significant milestone for the team and reflects the increasing demand for our fabrication and marine services.

A Move That’s Been a Long Time Coming

Since launching GLF Steel, the business has grown rapidly, with projects increasing in both scale and complexity. While our existing workshop has supported us well, it has become clear that we’ve outgrown the space.

This move has been a long time coming, and we’re excited to take the next step.

A Bigger Space for Bigger Projects

Our new workshop at:

Unit 3, Traymaster Estate, New Road, Catfield, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR29 5BQ

gives us the space and layout needed to significantly expand what we can offer!

The new facility allows us to:

  • Improve workflow and efficiency
  • Take on larger fabrication projects
  • Increase capacity and reduce turnaround times

One of the biggest advantages is the ability to work on full boats and yachts within the workshop itself – something that wasn’t previously possible.

Expanding Our Marine Capabilities

The new space enables us to enhance our marine services, allowing us to work directly on vessels rather than in sections or off-site.

This opens the door to:

  • Full stainless steel fabrication directly on the boat
  • Larger refurbishment projects
  • More efficient project delivery

We are also expanding our polishing capabilities, with a dedicated polishing shop designed to be fully segregated from the main workshop operations. This allows us to maintain high standards across both stainless steel and GRP polishing.

A Smoother Experience for Customers

The new workshop also improves the experience for our customers, with:

  • Better organisation across projects
  • A larger yard for easier access and collections
  • Space for customers to visit, discuss requirements and view work in progress

No Disruption to Service

We moved our workshop in stages, primarily over weekends, which meant there was be no disruption to our services during the transition period.

Looking Ahead

This move represents more than just a new location – it’s an investment in the future of GLF Steel.

We’re incredibly proud of how far the business has come over the past six years, and we’re excited about what this new space will allow us to achieve.

If you’re interested in working with us or would like to visit the new workshop, we’d be delighted to hear from you – get in touch!
